Meh-meh

Happy meh-meh year everyone!
Hope everyone had a great one, feasting on those cny goodies and collecting loads of angpows :D

CNY, this year, was something that I looked forward to. Not because of angpows, goodies or to dress nicely, but because it's finally rest time for me. Early Feb till CNY was purely school and work (events and shoots) every single day, including weekends. When I was off-duty, I had to rush presentation slides and get errands done. Exhausted max. And few days ago, I was unlucky enough to catch the fever bug :/

But still, I had a great one with my loved ones and even managed to go for a short getaway in Desaru, Malaysia :)

CNY + Vday 2014

CNY 1st day

*Posted the other OOTD photo on my Instagram (not shown in this post) which could also be found on Fashmob's Instagram as well! Click here to view!

CNY 2nd day

My mummy's lunar birthday, always on the second day of CNY.

With the external family, on the second day.

Happy lu-neighhhh new year, everyone! :)

Greetings from the last day of CNY! :) Hope you guys had a good short CNY holiday. I definitely had a great one. This year CNY was much busier for my family. We had more visits; met up with other family members that hardly joined us in the previous years and most importantly, we could see the family size getting larger as more of my cousins' other halves join in and celebrate this festive with us :)

Really looking forward to CNY in the next few years :D

*Credit to my bro for my OOTD photos on CNY 1st and 2nd day. Guess that's the good thing about having siblings. They will help you take lots of OOTD photos :D

So, besides being the last day of CNY, today is also another special day ~

Happy Valentines Day!
May all the couples be happy and for those who are single, may you all find your Mr/Miss Right soon. For those without dates today, well don't be upset. That day will come real soon for you, just not happening now *think positively* :D

Last but not least, Vday is not just for couples, it can be for everyone, anyone. So don't harp on the fact that you don't have a date tonight. Grab a friend or two and have your own fun :D You can also celebrate with your family too! Just like how I'm going to spend it today :)

So have fun, peeps!

CNY

XIN NIAN KUAI LE!

Today is the 10th day so I'm still not too late for this post :) My nightmare of the semester has started ever since the short CNY holiday ended. Rushing for deadlines (next week) and have to study for mid-terms that would be 2 weeks from now. Thus, this explains the super late post on CNY but late better than nothing. Hahaha.

CNY this year is just like what I had in the past few years. Nothing much has changed. Reunion dinner, same house-visiting routine, getting angbaos, eating goodies, photo-taking and not to miss, gambling. The only thing that has changed for me this year is I'm much closer to my paternal baby cousins. I only meet them like once a year during CNY and therefore, they are generally not close to me except for one of the girls. But after this year, they are no longer that shy and would not hide behind their parents whenever they see me or my brothers. Hahaha.

Remember in my previous post, I said I would reveal what was the theme I set for myself for CNY 2013? :) Well, I shall reveal it now. This year, I decided to go for a...

PLAITS THEME

Yes, that means hair styling and I started experimenting on different hair styles 2 weeks before CNY. I'm never that good with hair styling especially plaits and I never tie plaits for at least 10 years? Very long, I know. But oh well, I decided to give myself some challenge this year and there it is.

CNY DAY 1

I went over to my relatives on my paternal side and this was my OOTD: VauntCloset's Elena Laced Dress in Pink
Got the cheongsum feel right??? :D

My aunt loved this dress and was asking me where to get it. Too bad, it was already sold out on VC's website, else I would recommend her to go there and get it. Anyway, Clarice (owner of VC) wore the same dress as me on the first day. What a coincidental!

This is what I did to my hair:

The plaits were not super define and it kinda came loose after the first round of visiting :( The concept is to tie 2 plaits, each starting from the portion near your forehead till you reach the center of the back of your head. Then criss-cross both plaits and pin them with as many bobby pins as you like.

Second stop, I went over to my aunt's house and that is where I would meet my baby cousins every year. While waiting for them, I saw this cute panda chocolate sweet. Cute right!

A photo with my mummy. It was her birthday that day! Too bad, I can't get any cake on the actual day but she got a dinner treat from my brother on the second day which was her lunar birthday as well.

Then my adorable baby cousins...

Pretty girls and handsome boy. They are not afraid of me anymore and were even playing around with me haha. Hopefully it stays the same for next year :) I still have another pair of twin baby cousins. Didn't manage to get photos of them as babies are generally more shy. Next year must snap pictures of them.

Then, a family photo from my paternal side to end CNY day 1

CNY DAY 2

Went over to my grandma's house and this was my OOTD

My hairstyle of the day: Bun with plaits

This hairstyle was more successful as compared to day 1 and together, with the pink ribbon clip that my boyfriend picked, doesn't it look simple and sweet? :)

Photos of my maternal cousins, nephew and niece

Day 2 would have ended with just one house-visiting but this year, my clique decided to gather on the second day to have our annual CNY gathering at Matt's house with steamboat and grill for dinner!

We girls would never fail to camwhore, especially on special occasions/festive, so here goes:

Solo picture of us:

Last but not least, my fav boy

My fav boy and I have a yearly exchange of angbaos. I believe we are one of those few couples to do such things, right? Because I myself never heard or seen any couple doing such things beside us but I cannot claim that we are definitely the first ah. Lol. At least this is one of the unique things we do that separate us from other couples around us ^^

Our 2nd yearly exchange

I customized the above "red packet" for him because according to his dad, he couldn't celebrate CNY due to his grandpa's death late last year. I do not know what are the can/cannot-do-things such that it won't be offensive towards his late grandpa and his family, so to be safe, I customize the entire red packet from the exterior to the interior.

And this is from him to me :)

So this marks the end of the short holidays that I had and I enjoyed every single bit of it! I hope in the year of Snake, everything will go smoothly for me and my loved ones would be in their pink of health. Get rid of all the bad luck and may everyone be happy! :)

ONCE AGAIN, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Cute girl next door

I've a really cute girl staying next door and she captures my heart and attention each time she walks past my house *shy* But hey, I'm not lesbian, neither am I bisexual! HAHAHAHA.

This girl that I'm talking about is a young little girl with the tender age of 5 years old & her name is Samantha :)

Recently, she kept coming to my house after her dinner and she would walk around my entire house, from each room to the kitchen. Acting like she is the buyer of my house uh :D Hahaha. Most of the time, the other rooms are not available as my dad & bro would be napping, so she could only come into my room. And she would always comment how pretty my room is etc but those that came to my house before knows that my room is nowhere near pretty. Just reasonable. Samantha loves to play with the soft toys on my bed too and she had a soft toy war with my bro on my bed before.

Here she was in my room, telling me how pretty my room is...

Then, in my brothers' room and she was sharing her bowling experience when we thought we heard volleyball.

Another night visit from her

She is so cute, isn't she? She loves taking photos and would even pose for me to take!

I have also started exercising recently, with this FOC trainer but hor, he is a lousy trainer! Anyway that trainer is my boyfriend and we exercise in his condo's gym. Why did I say he is lousy? Hmm, firstly, he would let me do anything I want. If I tell him I don't feel like exercising that day, he would agree to it. Secondly, he would allow me to eat ice cream etc, and even bought a tub of salted caramel ice cream for me as my reward. I was happy with the reward but all my efforts in the gym went down to the drain the moment I ate the ice cream T.T Lastly, the lousy trainer blamed it on me for not controlling myself with sweet stuffs and not listening to his instructions. Where got such thing? If I've that kind of determination, I wouldn't need a trainer in the first place. Right?

The yummy dessert

CNY is just one day away and I'm so excited about it! Able to dress up, wear heels, collect angpows, eat many goodies and last but not least, photo taking! Every year, I would set a certain theme for myself. Maybe like wear dresses/shorts/skirts or have a colour theme etc. This year, it's a little different from the past themes as the focus is not on my clothing but on something else, which I would not reveal now. I will post photos on Instagram (if possible) and blog about it next time round.

Oh, take a look at what I got for free. Hehehe. My mummy was so happy to see all these. Haha.

Before I end off, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR. Enjoy the festival and must drink lots of water if you eat too much heaty food! :)
