Back from hiatus

It has been a while since I've posted anything. My bad. Recently, many things had happened and so, I took this break to recuperate. Now that I'm much better and hence I'M BACK!

Today, I shall just update this space with Destylez's May Lookbook and leave the remaining for the next post or two :) During this MIA period, I had done 2 outdoor shoots with Destylez and each shoot actually left me with awe. Zhu Ming, owner of Destylez, has always been that enthusiastic with shoots and she would dress me from head to toe, allowing me to explore various styles.

Got the tai tai (wealthy married woman) feel? That was how I felt when I first saw the photos haha.
Btw, Destylez is having sales of more than 50%, or if not, close to 50%, for selected items. Do drop by and shop away because their clothes are really of good quality and of course, nice for daily wear out! :)

Oh, just before I end this post, I just want to say I will no longer be updating my trip to Bali due to few personal reasons but if you guys are interested in knowing the places that I had been to and who to hire as driver, do feel free to contact me at rylovee@gmail.com! I will do my utmost best to assist you guys :)

Till then,

Lookbook collaboration with DeStylez

Today's feature:

Young brand. Big Dream.
We are more than an online shopping avenue; we aim to play an important role in the hearts of every girl by providing the latest fashion tips, and an eye on the current street trends for you to find the style of yours.

I was equally excited and worried when Zhu Ming approached me for a collaboration with her online store, DeStylez. Excited because I've always wanted to try on new styles to find out what fits me and what's not, so this collaboration is a good opportunity for me. Worried because I don't have any geek-chic experiences, hence I'm afraid the lookbook photos will not be up to expectations. Despite my worries, I take on this challenge and hope to improve myself through this collaboration.

Almost everything you see in the photos above belong to DeStylez except for the black midi skirt and platform heels. These items will be up in their coming collections, so do watch out on DeStylez space for more details on them.

I really like the retro look that Zhu Ming had styled on me and the place that she had explored was totally perfect for this retro shoot! The playground gave the old school feel and the random rusty white gate that we came across from one of those landed properties was an excellent background!

The fusion of retro and modern has definitely intrigued me in many ways and I'm excited to try out this style in my daily life soon. Hope it does the same to you girls too.

IKEA

Added this pretty picture of me on my Instagram feed 1 week ago. Quite amazed at how the photos turned out hehe, and this is one my fav shots of all. Photography always amazed me.

Anyway, I've never done an OOTD kind of shoot before, so I decided to try it out and to make my blog a little lively. Therefore, I decked on my polka dots overall (which I've purchased sometimes back but do not have opportunities to wear it out) and together with my pair of sneakers to IKEA Tampines.

I chose IKEA with the notion of killing two birds with one stone.
1) I need to do slight renovation to my absolutely messy room. It's so messy that it's driving me nuts so I decided to get a shelf to organize my items.
2) An opportunity to shoot without people staring at me all the time. Plus the many showrooms with nicely placed furnitures for us to make use of :D

Of course, while shooting, I've never forgotten my task to look for shelf and boxes to contain my stuffs.

Just returned from Bali and we had hell lots of fun. Catching sunrise, sunset, playing ATV and visiting animals etc. Do stay tuned for more interesting updates about Bali :)

Recuperate / Simplicity Affair

After 4-5 days of recuperating, I'm back again. This semester takes a toll on me, like seriously.
It's one of the crucial semesters of my NUS life because it's gonna decide if I'm going to graduate next year or to pursue honours year. To be honest, I'm torn between the 2 options. Just going to leave everything to fate and go along with whatever that I get.

But right now, it's HOLIDAYS. Time to play and immerse ourselves in the festive seasons! I've tons of things keeping me relatively busy this year end and I'm pretty excited to start executing them soon :)

For today, this post will be short and sweet with an introduction of another blogshop:

& this is one of the apparels in this current collection that I'm in love with. It gives me the xmas mood. Do you feel the same way too? What's more, it's a pull over that can keep one warm during this period with all the crazy downpours.

Simplicity Affair has many pretty apparels that you will be in love with. Like really. When I was told that I will be sponsored an apparel of my choice, I had a tough time choosing! Too many choices and I had to go through the photos to decide on one. So I strongly believe you will not regret shopping with Simplicity Affair. You will definitely find something that suits you! Do watch out their space (links given below) and be updated with their apparels!

Stella Stash

ANNYEONGHASEYO!
(Hello in Korean)

Do I look Korean-ish in those pictures? :D
I hope I do, because that's how I felt during the photoshoot.

Korean trend is hard to die, isn't it? Most people are still into K-pop, going ohh-wow over flawless Korean girls and even learn how to do Korean-like makeup to be a Korean-alike of the day. Are you one of such people that I'd mentioned???

Moving on to apparels. It's not a surprise that we have Korean fashion in our local markets and here I am going to introduce this blogshop that has their current collection 6 catering to lovers of Korean fashion...

Stella Stash aims to provide workwear and lifestyle items to our customers. Price is a subjective number, and we seek to deliver value to our customers, providing an optimal quality for the given price point. Every single piece in Stella Stash is sourced and handpicked with the customer in mind. Certain lower priced items are too translucent to last through two wears, with unflattering cut sleeves, and maybe missing zips or any form of opening that makes it difficult for customers to don on apparels - definitely not what Stella Stash is about.

I particularly love the phrase of "Price is a subjective number, ... , providing an optimal quality for the given price point". Indeed, the cost to look good is the price tag on apparels, but then, if those clothes can make one feels good, comfortable and most importantly, confident, then sacrificing that few dollars is nothing, isn't it? ^^

In Stella Stash, you do not only find pretty Korean apparels, you will find nice and unique accessories!
Example, the Mockingbird Necklace (shown below) or the White Daisy Necklace that I worn in the first picture above. Don't they look good? I bet they will go well with any outfit for a casual day out! Feeling tempted to get them for myself hehe!

So do visit Stella Stash to satisfy your crave for Korean apparels as well as pretty accessories. Their apparels are really good in quality and you will not regret getting them for yourself! :)

Sneakers

Few months ago, under my friends' persuasion and influence, I bought a pair of Converse sneakers. It's also my first pair of sneakers that I own. Finally can tick it out from my list of wants.

Since I received it, I have worn it out twice and I have to admit I'm loving it. It matches well with almost anything that gives off the casual look. No wonder it's called an essential to many. In the past, I always thought it would give that boy-ish look and being a more girly girl, that's not the style that I would want to portray and hence, my hesitance in buying a pair of sneakers.

The first time that I wore my pair of sneakers out:

Then the second time. This time round for a photoshoot with MapelDaisy.
Different from my usual style ya.

Well, we really have to try out all sorts of things in order to know if we truly like them. See now I'm loving the sneakers look despite my past reluctance, isn't it? :)

Don't reject, just try!

Fashion shoot

Romper from Fashion Martini

When you put on a less bright apparel, match it with bright accessories to be outstanding. The floral romper can look pretty dull and less lively in real life (look at the last picture) but with proper styling, it could accentuate its beauty. Of course, the lighting makes it look more cheerful too. All thanks to Anson and Mu En of MatteWhite for their photography and styling skills :)
